Champagne Champagne Larmandier-Bernier Latitude - Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs
Champagne Larmandier-Bernier Latitude is a 100% Chardonnay cuvée from parcels in the south of Vertus, produced in an Extra Brut spirit with a very low dosage of 2 to 4 g/L. With around 40% of the wine in perpetual reserve (solera), this cuvée represents a pure, mineral style, the signature of the domaine.
Technical specifications
- Blend: 100% Chardonnay (south of Vertus, Côte des Blancs)
- Dosage: Extra Brut (2-4 g/L)
- Vinification: Spontaneous fermentation in Burgundy tuns and barrels, malolactic fermentation carried out, aged on lees for 1 to 3 years, unfiltered.
- Perpetual reserve: 40%, solera started in 2004
- Disgorgement: manual, ~9 months before marketing
- Cellaring: ready to drink now, may evolve for 2 to 3 years
Sensory profile
On the nose, Champagne Chardonnay Vertus is distinguished by complex notes of citrus (lemon, grapefruit), stone fruit, toasted almond and brioche. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, this wine offers lovely mineral tension, orchestrated by precise acidity and a fine, delicate mousse. The finish lingers on chalky, herbaceous touches, with subtle salinity and harmonious balance.
Advantages and benefits
- Pure, identifiable terroir: Chardonnay de Vertus, expressive limestone terroir.
- Organic and biodynamic winemaking: sustainable commitment, low intervention.
- Very low dosage: enhances the wine's minerality, acidity and precision.
- Consistent quality: supported by solera reserve wines, bringing complexity and depth.
- Excellent scores: between 90 and 93 points by international critics.
Use and context
This cuvée is aimed at connoisseurs of Champagne de vigneron seeking purity and precision, in a dry, mineral style. Ideal with seafood, shellfish, noble fish or mature cheeses. Serve between 9°C and 11°C to fully appreciate its profile.
Why choose this product?
Larmandier-Bernier is a pioneer in biodynamic viticulture on the Côte des Blancs. Cuvée Latitude reveals the family know-how (Pierre, Sophie, Arthur) and enhances the expression of Vertus. Its perpetual reserve, a complex and homogeneous blend, reinforces its typicity, while the low dosage favors a precise reading of the terroir. With rave reviews from the press (Wine Advocate, Wine Spectator, James Suckling...), this is a great terroir wine.
