Champagne Jean de la Fontaine owes its name to the famous French writer, poet and fabulist Jean de La Fontaine. The Baron sisters created this cuvée inspired by their fables, which tell, among other things, the story of a frog who wants to be as big as an ox. A fable that conveys values such as humility, patience and self-respect.
An exceptional champagne
Since the creation of Maison Baron Albert in 1946, the Baron family has never ceased to seek excellence to produce exceptional champagne. By using state-of-the-art technologies, while respecting the environment and preserving their heritage, they have managed to create a unique cuvée that reflects their passion and know-how.
Sustainable Viticulture and “HVE” certification
To produce these champagnes, the Baron sisters have adopted environmentally friendly practices. In April 2016, the Sustainable Viticulture and “HVE” High Environmental Value certification were awarded to Maison Baron Albert. These certifications guarantee that the entire vineyard (55.85 hectares concentrated in 7 villages: Charly-sur-Marne, Pavant, Porteron, Domptin) is cultivated with respect for the environment.
Rigorous monitoring of vinification
The meticulous vinification by Grape variety, Cuvée or Size, Commune and Lieu-dit, as well as the vinification in vats, tuns, demi-muids or even in oak barrels make it possible to obtain a complex cuvée rich in aromas. The Baron sisters intervene as little as possible on the wines in order to respect the typicality of their terroir. They carry out rigorous monitoring of vinification with frequent tastings to ensure the quality of the cuvée.
