Vintage Champagne 2013: tradition and excellence
In 2013, the Champagne region was marked by a late and demanding harvest, giving rise to rare and precise vintage champagnes. The 2013 vintage champagnes stand out for their freshness, lively acidity and remarkable ageing potential. Each Champagne house that has chosen to declare this vintage has put forward an authentic expression of its terroirs, offering balanced, elegant and complex wines, perfect for accompanying gastronomy or for cellaring to evolve over time.
Champagne highlights 2013
La Mailly Grand Cru nature millésime 2013 is a blend of 75% pinot noir and 25% chardonnay, with aromas of pear, tangerine and spices and discreet cellar ageing. Lanson le vintage 2013, made from Grand Cru and Premier Cru grapes (53% pinot noir, 47% chardonnay), stands out for its intense fruit, chiselled structure and assertive minerality. The Fleury Sonate extra-brut with no added sulphur 2013 is a biodynamic wine, with virtually no dosage, a nose of yellow and roasted fruit and a long finish. Finally, the cuvée William Deutz 2013 combines finesse and tension, with notes of ripe fruit, toast and a lingering saline texture.
