    Description

Philipponnat Réserve Perpétuelle Non Dosé: the precision of a non-dosage champagne

Philipponnat Réserve Perpétuelle Non Dosé is a non-vintage white champagne produced without the addition of sugar after disgorging. With a dosage of 0 g/l, this cuvée directly expresses the wine’s structure, its natural freshness and the quality of its blend.

Dominated by Pinot Noir, it embodies the characteristic style of the House of Philipponnat: a structured body, controlled tension and a precise finish. The Chardonnay brings freshness and elegance, whilst a small proportion of Pinot Meunier rounds off the overall balance.

A perpetual reserve established in 1946

This cuvée owes its name to the perpetual reserve method used by Maison Philipponnat since 1946. Each year, a portion of the new harvest is blended with wines from previous vintages.

A portion of this blend is then stored in oak barrels and casks to be incorporated into the cuvées of subsequent years. This process ensures stylistic continuity whilst combining the freshness of recent vintages with the aromatic depth of older wines.

    Winemaking designed to preserve freshness

The grapes used to produce the Réserve Perpétuelle Non Dosé come mainly from terroirs around Mareuil-sur-Aÿ. The House favours the first pressings and carries out vinification in vats as well as in oak.

Some of the wines may not undergo malolactic fermentation in order to preserve their natural acidity, structure and ageing potential. The absence of dosage requires great precision in the winemaking process, as no added sugar alters the champagne’s final balance.

What food pairs well with the Réserve Perpétuelle Non Dosé?

Thanks to its freshness and the fact that it is not dosed, this champagne pairs particularly well with seafood and minimally processed dishes.

    Serving and storage

Serve Philipponnat Réserve Perpétuelle Non Dosé at around 8 °C, in a tulip glass or a white wine glass narrow enough to preserve the effervescence whilst allowing the aromas to develop.

The bottle should be stored horizontally, away from light, vibrations and temperature fluctuations. A cool, stable cellar will allow the cuvée to gradually develop more complex and mature notes.
