Description
Champagne Hugues Godmé Extra-Brut Blanc de Blancs Bio Premier Cru
Champagne Extra Brut Premier Cru Blanc de Blancs BIO by Hugues Godmé is a 100% Chardonnay single-varietal cuvée from the Premier Cru terroirs of the Montagne de Reims (Verzenay, Villers-Marmery...). Certified Agriculture Biologique (AB) since 2010 and biodynamic since 2011, it reflects a sustainable commitment to pure wines that respect the soil.
Technical specifications
- Grape variety: 100% Chardonnay
- Terroirs: Premier Cru (Verzenay, Villers-Marmery, Villedommage...)
- Viticulture: Organic (AB certification), biodynamic
- Vinification: Fermentation in wood (~60%) and stainless steel
- Aging: On lees, prolonged, partial malolactic fermentation
- Dosage: Extra-Brut (0-6 g/L)
Organoleptic profile
A clear, luminous color precedes a nose of light floral notes, citrus fruit and a hint of brioche. On the palate, the attack is lively, structured by a saline acidity that underlines the assertive mineral tension. Aromas of green apple and lemon are followed by a soft texture with subtle buttery touches from barrel ageing.
Advantages & benefits
- Respect for the environment: organic and biodynamic champagne viticulture, favoring soil balance and terroir typicity.
- Typicity: pure expression of Chardonnay Premier Cru, far from traditional blends.
- Aromatic complexity: a mix of floral, fruity and brioche notes, prolonged by a remarkable saline minerality.
- Fine profile: low dosage preserves freshness and elegance.
Tasting & Tips
Serve chilled, between 8°C and 10°C, to preserve its tension and finesse. Ideal with shellfish, oily fish (salmon, turbot) and fresh cheeses, this champagne is part of a contemporary gastronomic approach that respects natural flavors.
Why choose this champagne?
- 5th-generation winemaker in Verzenay, practicing sustainable viticulture for over 15 years.
- Parcel-by-parcel vinification that highlights the terroir through the use of separate barrels and vats.
- Extra-Brut profile for lovers of mineral, structured champagnes.
- Critical acclaim (90/100 Gismondi, Gault & Millau).
● Storage recommendations
Store the bottle horizontally, at a constant temperature (10-12°C), away from light. Best consumed within 3-5 years of purchase to benefit from the freshness and complexity of the aromas.
