Description

Champagne Coessens Extra Brut Les Sens Boisés is an exceptional Blanc de Noirs produced on the Largillier terroir in Ville-sur-Arce, Côte des Bar. It fully reflects the assertive style of the Coessens house: depth, minerality and finesse.

Technical specifications

  • Grape variety: 100% Pinot Noir
  • Terroir: "Substance" plot on clay-limestone soil
  • Vinification in Chablis barrels (old barrels) - 8 months minimum
  • Prolonged aging on lees followed by natural bubbling
  • Dosage: Extra Brut (~6 g/L), ensuring tension and purity

Profile & aromas

This Pinot Noir Champagne is distinguished by its pale gold color and lively, silky bubbles. The nose reveals candied citrus fruits, mirabelle plums, refined spices and a beautiful minerality (chalk, limestone), accompanied by vanilla and biscuity nuances from the woody ageing. On the palate, theattack is dynamic, the texture ample, finely spiced, supported by vibrant acidity and an elegant persistence on the finish.

Advantages & differentiation

  • Pure expression of Largillier terroir and Pinot Noir grape variety
  • Barrel-aged for unique aromatic complexity
  • Very low dosage guarantees great minerality and a taut style
  • Comparable to long-ageing wines thanks to its structure and depth

Serving suggestions

Serve between 9 and 11°C to fully appreciate woody and fruity aromas. This Extra Brut Champagne goes perfectly with shellfish (lobster, cuttlefish) and fine dishes such as creamy risotto, poultry with mushrooms and roast pork. Also ideal with soft cheeses such as Brie or Chaource.

Why choose it?

Its uniqueness lies in the combination of a Pinot Noir from a single vineyard, controlled barrel ageing and extra-brut dosage. It stands out for its aromatic depth, balanced structure and saline finish. Ideal for connoisseurs looking for an uncompromising Champagne de terroir.
