Returns policyReturns policyThe product of equal parts Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay, the Pink Reserve from Charles Heidsieck champagne originates from the Brut Reserve sector of this infamous Reims house. Its assembly is 30% reserve wines from the previous harvest, blended with 70% of the year's harvest. It is this which continues the tradition of the house, and the basic recipe to which 10% reserve wines has been thoughtfully added (taken only from the best terroirs).
Of course, this would mean nothing without a good maturation period. This bottle has that in spades, and indeed it is matured for longer than 3 years in the historic cellars of the chalk house.
An elegant dress is expected, and this is what is delivered – along with a colour that reminds of a cherry tree in full bloom. As well as this, its effervescence is sharp and thin, creating a nose that is both marked by wild strawberries as well as soft and fresh.
The story continues gracefully with cinnamon, liquorice and spicy tobacco aromas evolving into a stew of pleasing vanilla. Once on the palate, the attack is gentle and full of all kinds of coveted aromas such as buttered brioche and blackberry jelly.
