Lanson Le Vintage 2014 is a vintage brut champagne produced from a rigorous selection of 2014 vintages. Made without malolactic fermentation, it retains a pronounced natural acidity and a structure suited to ageing.

A blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, this 2014 vintage champagne offers a precise structure, notes of ripe citrus and white-fleshed fruits, underpinned by a lingering mineral finish. Suitable for analytical tasting or pairing with full-bodied dishes.

Lanson Millésime 2014 is from the 2014 vintage, a year offering excellent ageing potential.

The blend comprises 54% Pinot Noir, sourced mainly from Grands Crus (Verzenay, Verzy, Sillery, Bouzy) and complemented by Avenay-Val-d’Or Premier Cru, which adds a velvety texture and depth.

The remaining 46% comes from Chardonnay from the Grands Crus of the Côte des Blancs (Oger, Cramant, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Avize), complemented by Vertus Premier Cru, giving the wine a fruity, precise and elegant style.

Disgorgement carried out in 2023 allows the liqueur to blend perfectly with the wine, allowing it to express itself fully and revealing great aromatic finesse.

Sensory analysis

Colour
The colour is a deep golden yellow, with fine, regular bubbles rising through it, indicative of extended ageing.

Nose
The bouquet centres on notes of ripe citrus, white-fleshed fruit and mineral undertones. Upon aeration, more complex aromas of dried fruit and subtle toasted notes emerge, reflecting the wine’s development.

Palate
The attack is clean and precise. The acidity provides structure and supports a dense body, characterised by Pinot Noir. The finish is persistent, with a sensation of mineral freshness characteristic of age-worthy champagnes.

FAQ – Frequently asked questions

What is a vintage champagne?

A vintage champagne is made exclusively from grapes from a single harvest year, chosen for its quality. It therefore reflects the specific climatic conditions of that vintage.

Why does Lanson not carry out malolactic fermentation?

This choice aims to preserve the wine’s natural acidity, its freshness and its ageing potential, whilst maintaining great aromatic precision.

Can Lanson Le Vintage 2014 Champagne age?

Yes, its structure and acid balance give it excellent ageing potential over several years.

What sort of dish should this champagne be paired with?

It is ideal with structured gourmet dishes, particularly those featuring premium fish, poultry or refined preparations.

What is the difference between this and a non-vintage champagne?

A non-vintage champagne blends several vintages to ensure consistency of style, whereas a vintage champagne reflects a specific year.

When should this cuvée be opened?

It can be enjoyed now or kept to allow the aromas to develop further over time.
