Champagne Winemaker Jean Michel - The Art of Excellence

Since its founding in 1847, the MICHEL Family has devoted its life to a passion for the vine, inheriting an invaluable wine tradition passed down from generation to generation. Nestled in the heart of the Champagne vineyards, a few kilometers from Épernay, is the estate of 12 hectares of vines where the emblematic grape varieties of the region blend harmoniously: Meunier, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. These three viticultural gems give rise to exceptional vintages, each embodying a diversity of unique flavors.

The Refined Palette of Unique Cuvées in Champagne

The range of creations from Maison Jean Michel is truly remarkable. From the emblematic Brut Sans Année (B.S.A.) available in extra brut, brut and demi-sec, to the refinement of Blanc de Meunier, each vintage is the authentic expression of family know-how. Without forgetting the Blanc de Chardonnay and the prestigious vintage Special Cuvée, as well as the Rosés and a cuvée vinified in barrels, thus offering a complete range of sparkling delights.

Champagne winegrower, the passionate commitment of the Michel Family

At the heart of this family business, the roles are perfectly distributed: Olivier devotes himself with passion to the vineyard and winemaking, while Florence manages the reception of customers and shipments, whether national or international. As a Harvester-Manipulant (R.M.), Olivier MICHEL devotedly produces all of his vintages in the family facilities, vinifying exclusively only the harvests from his estate.

The Art of Wine Culture

The exceptional quality of Jean Michel champagnes is based above all on the unique terroir where the vines thrive. Meticulous working practices are employed to support their growth. Careful pruning, grass-covered soil, and a commitment to organic cultivation ensure a robust root system, nourishing grapes of exceptional quality.

The Richness of Viticultural Diversity in champagne

The vineyard is a rich and diverse ecosystem, including vines over 50 years old as well as young plants, nine distinct vintages and the three precious Champagne grape varieties. This diversity is the key that gives finesse, elegance and personality to each of the wines produced by Maison Jean Michel.

Champagne Vinification, a Subtle Art

Each harvest is celebrated as a festival, but also carefully evaluated to determine the quality of the harvest. Each vintage, each grape variety is vinified individually, whether in barrels or in vats. They complement each other harmoniously during blending, giving each vintage its unique style and singularity.

The Precious Heritage of Traditional Cellars

The ancestral cellars of Maison Jean Michel are true guardians of the essence and character of the wines. They offer a mysterious place where time and the ideal environment guarantee the development of wines, revealing subtle aromas and exquisite bouquets at the right moment.

A Welcoming and Rewarded Home

Maison Jean Michel opens its doors with generosity, offering visitors the chance to discover wines regularly praised by prestigious specialist guides such as the Guide Hachette. Each champagne bubble is the assurance of discovering the authentic flavors of a champagne made with love and passion.
