Champagne from the Côte des Blancs
The Côte des Blancs, located south of Épernay, is an emblematic region of Champagne vineyards, extending over some 20 kilometers. Its name reflects the predominance of the Chardonnay grape, which accounts for 95% of local plantings. The chalky soils and east-facing slopes offer ideal conditions for this grape variety, giving rise to champagnes renowned for their finesse and elegance. The villages of Avize, Cramant, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Oger, located on this slope, are particularly renowned for the quality of their crus.
Among the region's emblematic cuvées, Champagne Pommery Brut Apanage stands out for its pale yellow color and fresh nose with creamy citrus notes. On the palate, it reveals aromas of hazelnut, dried apricot and vanilla, with a touch of light tobacco and shortbread. Charles Heidsieck Brut Réserve, meanwhile, has a golden color with notes of brioche, dried fruit and fresh fruit. On the palate, it offers flavors of nougat, plums, cherries, amber, vanilla and praline. Among the emblematic cuvées of the Côte des Blancs, Abelé Cuvée 1757 Brut stands out for its balance between freshness and complexity, offering subtle aromas of white fruit and brioche with a long finish. Meanwhile, Claude Cazals Bulles de Craie perfectly illustrates the influence of the region's chalky soils, with a marked minerality, citrus notes and a silky texture that sublimates every tasting experience. Each cuvée is carefully crafted to offer an exceptional taste experience.
