Champagne from the Côtes des Bar
The Côte des Bar, in the southern part of the Champagne region, is distinguished by its unique terroir of Kimmeridgian marl and Portlandian limestone, similar to that of Chablis. This geological feature, combined with a slightly warmer climate, favors the predominance of Pinot Noir, which accounts for around 86% of plantings. Historically, the region has been renowned for the quality of its grapes, contributing significantly to the blends of the great Champagne houses.
Among the emblematic cuvées of the Côte des Bar, Fleury Fleur de L'Europe Brut Nature stands out for its aromas of wild strawberries and a finish reminiscent of cherry and orange syrup. Coessens Brut Blanc de Noirs offers a pure expression of Pinot Noir, with mineral notes and elegant structure. Deutz Brut Classic, an elegant, well-balanced champagne, with floral, brioche and almond notes, offering a lovely freshness on the palate. Cuvée Laurent-Perrier, a refined wine dominated by Chardonnay, with aromas of citrus fruit and white flowers, and a fresh, delicate finish. Each cuvée reflects the expertise of local champagne growers and the richness of this exceptional terroir.
