Champagne from Châtillion-sur-marne

The Châtillon-sur-Marne terroir, nestled in the heart of the Marne Valley and the Montagne de Reims Natural Park, is a land rich in history and winemaking traditions. As far back as Gallo-Roman times, a fortress called "Castello Super Matronam" stood on the hill overlooking the valley. Today, the village retains traces of its medieval past, with its narrow streets and the remains of its fortifications. Châtillon-sur-Marne's vineyards cover some 238.80 hectares, cultivated by 115 growers. The main grape varieties are Meunier (179.40 ha), Pinot Noir (40.70 ha) and Chardonnay (18.70 ha), reflecting the diversity and richness of this terroir.

Among the region's emblematic cuvées, Cuvée Divine Extra Brut en Solera from Leclerc-Briant stands out for its complex aromas of bergamot, almond and lemon, offering a creamy texture and beautiful minerality. Smej Vély also offers champagnes made from the three Champagne grape varieties, offering balanced, refined wines. Champagne C. Michalet, with its six generations of winemakers, offers cuvées that reflect the authenticity and savoir-faire of the Marne Valley.
